  Explanation of Abbreviations & Measurements

D or T in front of name = Diploid or Tetraploid respectively
(eg. Dor 28 x 5in (70 x 13cm) MRe)
Dor = Dormant in winter
SEv = Semi Evergreen
E = Evergreen
Height of bloomscape as registered by breeder (the larger measurement):
Bloom Size (the smaller measurement).
Season of bloom: (as experienced in our garden - not as registered - as we think this gives a more accurate guide to British gardens)
EE = Extra Early
E = Early
EM = Early/mid-summer
M = Mid-season
ML = Mid-season/Late
L = Late
Other characteristics may include:
Re = registered as reblooming (but may depend on the length of the growing season)
Noc = Nocturnal (opens the afternoon or evening before)
Ext = Extended (blooming lasts longer than 12 hours)
Fra = Fragrant
+ = Size depends on climate and cultural conditions
New = First time offered in Gt Britain
